Sue loves Rod, but he’s a pilot who repeatedly volunteers to “fight for justice” in various international conflicts. He departs for Burma, and Sue tries to forget him in the arms of other men. One of these men, Frank, tells her he was working in Burma and heard international spy Mara had targeted Rod. Sue travels to Burma where she rescues Rod from the femme fatale just in time.

Private detective Pat is hired by Tracy to investigate fake medium Eric, who is fleecing Tracy’s mother. Pat begins to fall for the suave Eric, until she discovers a reward poster for con man Jack Bascomb (aka Eric) that Eric has for some reason retained. Tracy arrives and rescues Pat; Eric is arrested and Pat retires from her business to marry Tracy.

Jan models for artist Mark, whose wife is an invalid. Jan and Mark fall in love, and when his wife dies, they plan to wed. Jan becomes like a mother to Mark’s child Judy. However, the local residents are offended by Mark’s relationship with Jan and want to run her out of town. At a town meeting, Mark stands up for Jan and says “anybody who picks on us from now on will have a handful of trouble!”

Linda and Jeff are part of a university student tour of Algiers. In the Casbah, Linda spots a handsome stranger and returns to see him that night. They have a romantic interlude and she returns the next evening but has her diamond necklace stolen. The stranger and his henchman plan to murder Linda to protect their racket, but Jeff arrives and rescues her.
