Under someone else's control, Clark Kent hires some thugs to kill Superman and provides them with the weapon to do it. Later when Superman realizes he cannot account for his whereabouts or his missing time, he summons Batman to help solve the mystery. Together they prevent the assassination attempt and uncover Dr. Light behind the effort.
