Continued from last issue: As Hayashi Kato has a near-death experience involving an ancient Japanese goddess, Dr. Thompson's defibrilator restarts his heart. However, the medical man cautions that this is "only a reprieve," and Hay can survive but a few more hours without an antidote. Back in The Maze, the Green Hornet and Crimson Wasp find an entire "village" of buildings within the tunnels. Before they can enter, they are attacked by even more Black Dragon assassins, but again the attack is unsuccessful. They hear the sound of a ringing gong and trace it to the village's temple. The Hornet goes in alone and is attacked by a white tiger, but the Wasp appears, killing it with her sword. Mei Li steps forward to reveal that the big cat was her pet, and she swears to make them pay dearly for the animal's death. However, the elderly herbalist for whom the masked figures search interrupts and shows absolutely no fear of the Daughter of the Black Dragon. The Hornet explains the purpose of his visit, and the herbalist pulls a knife with which he cuts the masked man's hand. He has thusly infected the Hornet with the same poison, he explains, but offers enough antidote to save only one life. Our hero tells him to give it to the Wasp for delivery to the other. Mei Li draws a handgun and attempts to kill the herbalist, but as the Hornet strives to shield the old man's body with his own, a sword stroke from the Wasp slices the other woman's wrist, and the pistol falls to the floor. As Mei Li's mother tends her daughter's wound and helps her away, the herbalist admits that there was no poison on his blade. It was but a trick to learn just what sort of man the Green Hornet really is. Five hours later, Hayashi comes out of his coma, and he and Diana admit their feelings for each other.

Covering #27 of this series, the feature remains one month behind. There is an entry for "The Green Hornet 3-D Special," which also gets a full-page house ad of its own (between pages 11 & 12 of Sequence 1), though the cover art-like illio there is not what is shown here. However, this special was not only never published, it was never promoted in the line's variantly titled-and-formatted last-page feature, nor announced by the editor of this regular Green Hornet title in its letter columns.
