Quite a crowd, eh - Jeckle?
Seeing how an organ grinder and his monkey rake in money from delighted onlookers, Heckle and Jeckle set Dimwit up as an organ grinder and don monkey suits, figuring that two "monkeys" will make twice as much. Things don't quite go according to plan.

Oddly, aside from "representing as monkeys", Heckle and Jeckle commit no crimes, nor do they indulge in their trademark type of mischief and mayhem, yet they end up in jail at story's end - for once, not deserving it.

Heckle; Jeckle; Farmer Bonehead; cow; duck; chickens; pig; sheep; marketman
I'm tired of city life, old boy.
Heckle and Jeckle find themselves tending a farm of non-conformist animals. The cow wants to give green milk. The duck wants to lay square eggs, and the chickens (perhaps, rather painfully) want to lay nuts and bolts and costume jewelry. ...And what happens once they do?

Tribute or Coincidence? The duck wanting to lay square eggs (which it actually does) recalls another story involving ducks and square eggs - Carl Barks' "Lost in the Andes" (1949), perhaps the most famous funny animal story of all. https://www.comics.org/issue/7367/#70916 Coincidence most likely, but a reference by Jim Tyer or his writer (Tom Morrison?) is always possible.
