Self-centered society author Harley is admitted to the hospital where nurse Vicky and her boyfriend Dr. Jim work. Playboy Harley sets his sights on Vicky and, when he’s discharged, offers her a job as his private nurse. Vicky accepts the position to earn money so Jim can open his own practice. Jim, jealous, punches Harley when the “blasé cosmopolite” says Vicky is just another of his flings. Jim and Vicky reconcile and Harley finds a new girlfriend.

Broadcaster Ruth is reunited with her boyfriend Les at the end of World War II. He wants to get back into the radio business and Ruth tries to manage his comeback, utilising her many contacts in the industry. Les decides instead to start over in a small market and expects Ruth to join him. Executive Peter offers Ruth the job of program manager of his big radio station as well as romance, which earns him a punch in the nose from Les. Ruth will go with Les to his new job and they’ll be married.
