Five heroes ... Born of chemicals and each trained to be a special agent of the Matrix Corporation.
Alexi Vlasov uses Sham's body to power a giant robot body he calls Mega-Man and uses it to destroy Matrix, Inc. headquarters. When Sham escapes, Vlasov appears to die in the resulting explosion. After Luger manages to kill Angela, Surge learns from Lucius that she was Proto-1, grown using the DNA of the real Angela who had been murdered eleven years earlier. Lucius also suggests that Surge was grown from his own DNA after Harden tells the group that Vlasov's attack has destroyed the recorded research used to create them, making Lucius' claim impossible to verify.
