Synopsis: Carole’s ex-husband Alan returns to town just before her wedding to Rick. 5 years earlier, Carole had married Alan, but he turned out to be an abusive drunk. They divorced and Alan left town. Carole decided to marry the jealous and domineering Rick on the rebound. Alan is badly injured in an auto accident on the day of Carole’s wedding, and she learns he had been diagnosed with cancer when they were married and wanted to spare her the agony of watching him die. He’s cured now, and Carole realizes Alan is the only man she ever loved.

This makes Tony break their engagement. Jinny shamefully confesses everything to Les and he reveals that Miss Bristol and Tony were listening behind the door. The two couples pair off age-appropriately.
