Susan Crane; John Renwa; Frank Crane; Mrs. Crane; Mr. Renwa; Mrs. Renwa

She accepts his marriage proposal but her parents are violently prejudiced and beat Susan when she refuses to stop seeing him. The reprinted version has 5 additional panels not in the original: these appear at the bottom of the contents page and serve as a teaser for the story (which begins following a full page ad).
The story itself has been revised to conform to the Comics Code. On page 3 in the original, Susan's father hits her but this has been redrawn in the reprint to have him merely express his dissatisfaction. In the original he's wearing a "wife-beater" undershirt but this has been changed to an all-black, long-sleeved shirt in the reprint. Additionally, dialogue has been changed to remove some racial slurs. On the original page 4, Susan's father whips her with his belt: this panel has been completely re-drawn in the reprint, replaced with a verbal admonishment. Additional dialogue changes have been made on this page in the reprint as well.

Marcia; Ted; Danny; Brad; Frank
Marcia dates many men, dropping each one for a better “prospect”; even after accepting an engagement ring from Brad, she flaunts herself to others. Marcia dumps Brad when she meets Frank, whom she really loves. However, Brad uses her for sex and then says “it’s been lots of fun, kid” and tells her he’s moving to another country. When Marcia protests, Frank says he’s just doing to her what she did to Brad and many other men. Marcia is left alone.
