Cathy Saunders; Mr. Saunders; Mrs. Saunders; John; Anne; Bill; David Moore; Pat Godwin
Cathy feels her parents lead a “dull, loveless life” and insists she won’t get married until she finds a love that will last “forever!” Cathy falls in love with David but is afraid of losing him so she monopolizes his time. In an attempt to get married sooner, Cathy asks her parents for a loan but they can’t afford it and David is opposed. When Cathy demands that David fire his secretary and hire her, he says she’s “smothering” him and breaks up with her. Cathy’s friend advises her to “take the worry mask off” and enjoy life.
