Oboy! Watch me knock over that tin can!
Mickey is hurling rocks at cans and not having much luck scoring a hit when Mr. Hermit arrives and advises him to try throwing mistletoe instead. When Mickey scoffs, Mr. Hermit relates the tale of Baldur the Good, who was immune to all harm thanks to his mother Frgga intervening with all living things. But when Loki discovers Frigga didn't bother seeking acquiecense from the lowly mistletoe bush. Loki then convinces a blind man to throw an arrow with mistletoe tied to it at Baldur, which kills the god instantly. Amazed, Mickey tosses a twig at his can and knocks it over.

Hilarity ensues when Aunt Tillie takes charge of ol' Engine 711 of the Jerkwater Line, given the initial absence, then the narcoleptic urges, of its engineer, Snorter. Meanwhile, Professor Marmaduke's insistance on showing his new invention to any and all passengers results in the destruction of Tillie's new hat, which he was supposed to be guarding. But the day is saved with the mayor's wife mistakes the hardscrabble haberdashery for the latest in haute couture.

While brainstorming how to raise money to buy furniture for their 'Specters' Club,' Speck and Sis notice the neighborhood kids all sporting red hair. It seems the local theater is offering free admission to gingers on 'Redheads Day,' and the local bullies, Brickbatt and Halfbatt, are charging 10¢ per dye job. Speck hatches a plan to charge 10¢ to remove the hair dye after the show, which horns in on the bullies' plans to get the kids coming and going. This leads to a confrontation settled only by the timely application of hair remover to the bullies' scalps.

Boy, some bike hike!
Two boys out for a ride on their new 'east-going' Fisk bikes spot a secluded cabin where a young boy is being held for ransom. Rushing back to town to call for help, they take a dangerous shortcut across the narrow bridge that spans a gaping chasm. But thanks to the 'safety grip Fisk treads' on their tires, they 'weren't even worried, and the day was saved.
