Young Buck Duane has his father's talent with a gun, kills a man who draws on him, and flees to ride the outlaw trail as a loner, with his hands clean of evil. Time passes, and by offer of a pardon Capt. McNelly of the Rangers recruits Buck to go undercover and discover the true identity of the mysterious crime lord, Chesaldine, and bust up Chesaldine's rustler gang in the Big Bend region. Buck falls for the Chesaldine's innocent daughter, and must resolve all conflicts or die trying.

Bill hears a gunshot. Quirt Jackson shot dead! People approaching, Bill flees, fearing false accusation because he had motive. But he left his hat. On the trail he repents his flight; he has no heart to be an outlaw. He returns to face his fate, but the gunman, Dorgin the rustler, also left his own hat, and donned Bill's by mistake, exposing his guilt. Quirt, Dorgin's confederate, recovered, bullet just creased his scalp, and both were jailed for stealing horses.

The artwork is like a copy of John Prentice and Alex Raymond, and that must be Bob Correa. He exelled in swapping faces and hands from the Rip Kirby stories by these artists, Four Color # 604 '55. Prentice began on Rip Kirby in 1956, so these early copies must be from Raymond. This face is more like them in # 467 '53.
