Synopsis: Dot and her boyfriend Steve both get jobs in a new factory which opens in their town, but Steve receives a scholarship to university and quits. Dot fears Steve will forget about her or think she’s beneath him. Factory foreman Chuck constantly undermines her faith in Steve, and when Steve comes home on break and refuses to take a job in the factory, they break up. Dot later hears Steve is doing badly at school because he’s depressed. They reconcile: Dot agrees to wait to be married until Steve achieves his dream of graduating.
