The universal solvent used in this story was first used by Don Rosa in his college newspaper strip The Pertwillaby Papers in the 1970s. It was later reprinted in the Rockets Blast Comicollector fanzine and then collected in issue 2 of Don Rosa's Comics & Stories (Fantagraphics, 1983). As an in-joke Scrooge acquires a Carl Barks painting at the end of the story. The story was originally created for serilaisation in two parts, and is split in this comic by the remaining strips. The Egmont credited for colours is the European publisher, not an individual.

The Hachette credited for colours is the French publisher, so it's likely this illustration was originally the cover to a French edition of Don Rosa's story this issue.
