Nancy Talbot; Tom; Ace Hart; Mrs. Foster; Dr. Eric Mason; Mrs. Talbot
Nancy and Tom are engaged but when her father dies she leaves school and looks for a job to help support her mother. The only job she can find is as a scantily-clad photographer in Ace’s nightclub. Seamstress Mrs. Foster tells Nancy that the girls who work in the club are “real, honest, decent people like you are!” Tom comes to visit but is ashamed when he sees her at work and Nancy breaks up with him. She and Dr. Eric fall in love but when photos of her in her work outfit are published in the newspaper, she fears he’ll dump her. Eric says he loves Nancy and doesn’t care about her job.

This turns out to be a fraternity reunion and she’s the hit of the party. Lucy has many dates, gains self-confidence and eventually becomes engaged to Eddie. Still unsure, she returns to Cosmo and he advises her to marry the man she meets who’s wearing a carnation. It’s Eddie, who is also an actor hired by Hal to play Cosmo. Eddie and Lucy will marry.

Rod explains he was breaking up with her because he loves Helen, but she’s unsure. Helen asks Joan to make a play for Rod to see if he can be faithful. When she sees Rod kissing Joan, Helen is convinced Rod is a rat. However, it was actually Joan and her real boyfriend, not Rod. Helen and Rod reconcile.
