Ruby Stead; John Page; Joe Hedges; Bruce Page
Cookie factory employee Ruby flirts with boss John to improve her status. He offers her the post of personal secretary. She accepts, intending to marry John—a widower--eventually. Ruby dumps her boyfriend, cop Joe. John proposes marriage, which upsets his grown son Bruce, who had rejected Ruby’s advances. However, it was all a scheme to teach Ruby a lesson: John calls Joe, who comes to take a repentant Ruby home.

While her fiance, pilot David, is away, Lois agrees to attend a party with her girlfriends. Lois leaves with guest Jim, but wrecks her car when he gets fresh. Her father is ashamed of her actions and Lois decides to leave town. She takes a job as a hat-check girl at the Hideaway club to earn money for this. However, she’s caught in another scandal at the club with wealthy Mr. Kay, and agrees to marry him to silence her critics. When David comes home, Mr. Kay agrees to release Lois from her promise and Lois and David reconcile.
