In order to keep The Star of Atlantis, a legendary jewel of potentially great destructive power, out of the hands of the Nazis, Dr. Weird summons several heroes together, and uses his newly-repaired time machine to send them back to World War II to retrieve it. At a castle in Transylvania, they encounter Adolph Hitler himself, along with Dr. Franz Gruber, who hopes to use the Star to aid the Nazis' conquest of Earth.
