Compilation of daily newspaper comic strips from November 22, 1958 to December 11, 1959. Notable story arcs include: Lester Gooch desires Daisy Mae; Pincus No. 7 invades the Earth; Gat Garson switches places with Li'l Abner; Li'l Abner visits Rome; Moonbeam McSwine stars in Italian movies, and inspires the "Slobnik" craze; Tiny falls in love with Moonbeam; Fearless Fosdick foils Nelson Shrinkafeller, who is shrinking the city; Shmoos return; Mamie Moosenose pursues Tiny on Sadie Hawkins Day. The Slobniks are used to poke fun at the beatniks. Rumberto Rascalini spoofs Italian film director Federico Fellini. Nelson Shrinkafeller plays off the name of New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller. The names of several Pincushions spin off from the names of prominent people of the day.
