Setting: Earth 2. Brainwave has transferred Superman's and Batman's minds into Power Girl and Huntress. The Ultra-Humanite has hidden their bodies, and unless they can find them in time, Power Girl's and Huntress' minds will reassert themselves and overwrite Batman's and Superman's minds. Along the way, Batman finds out he is Huntress' father, but forgets that when his mind is restored. At the end, we find that New Earth's Power Girl has been dreaming this (although she could be tuned into Earth 2 in her dreams).

Supergirl is in Kandor, getting a tattoo, while some guy calling himself Kal-El is railing against unbelievers and heretics, and against Nightwing and Flamebird. Kandor at this point consists of Kryptonians and Aliens. As Supergirl leaves the parlor, she is confronted by some aliens, who assault her as a Kryptonian in the wrong sector. Nightwing arrives to stop them, but Supergirl breaks an alien's hand, and almost uses heat vision to kill them. Nightwing intervenes, with the heat vision revealing under her costume Power Girl's outfit. They fight briefly, then talk on a nearby rooftop. They discuss whether it is time to leave or not, but Supergirl says she thinks the key to getting back to Argo City is here. "Kal-El" is talking to his slaves via remote, saying the only way they can be redeemed is to serve Kryptonians, when cries of "Lies" are heard. Nightwing and Flamebird attack, and free the slaves. But Supergirl's tattoo is revealed. "Kal-El" arrives, and destroys all witnesses to the attack.

"Kal-El" recognizes Flamebird's tattoo as belonging to a Kryptonian. The praisesingers search out Nightwing and Flamebird, terrorizing the people. Supergirl and Power Girl discuss why they are there, and that Supergirl is searching for a way to Argo City. The tattoo is tracked down to Chezzt, and "Kal-El" confronts him to find out who he tattooed. "Kal-El" talks to his mother, who can read his mind. Nightwing and Flamebird meet with the rebel leader to discuss the situation, but then the monitors interrupt with "Kal-El" saying he will kill 100 of the "unclean" every 10 minutes until the pair surrenders. The first deadline approaches, and "Kal-El" starts to kill a mother and child, when they are rescued by "Nightwing" and "Flamebird". But the child proves to be a human bomb and explodes, seriously hurting the pair. As "Kal-El" confronts one of them, he's ambushed by the real Nightwing and Flamebird, and Flamebird starts beating him to death, flashing back to her father telling her to kill the real Kal-El. Nightwing tries to stop her, but is stopped by others. Flamebird starts hearing a voice in her head, and it convinces her to unmask, and kiss "Kal-El". The voice is coming from "Kal-El's" mother, who is revealed as Saturn Queen.

Nightwing is in chains. Kara is being prepared for her wedding to "Kal-El" by Saturn Queen, and under her mind control. Saturn Queen then confronts Power Girl, telling her they have met and fought in another time. Power Girl realizes that Kara is being controlled, but as Saturn Queen starts to deny the level of control, she feels pain, and her nose starts to bleed, caused by something Kara did. "Kal-El" is getting a yellow-sun treatment to keep his powers in Kandor, and talks with Kara. Suddenly, she flashes back, and starts thinking of killing "Kal-El". Saturn Queen had sensed this, and rushes back, mentally telling Kara to stop. Kara sees scenes in her head about how Saturn Queen was defeated in a Superman/Batman team-up, and how she found Ultraman in the phantom zone, and how they then landed together in Kandor. She gets Kara under control, and confronts her, but that makes Kara flash back to a time with her mother, telling her to end the curse of El. This finally breaks Saturn Queen's control completely, and Kara attacks her. Saturn Queen tells Ultraman to attack Kara, but Kara attacks first, pounding him through the wall and into the wall of the dome around Kandor. Power Girl, about to be beheaded, hears the sound of that. Saturn Queen rushes out, and tells them to execute Power Girl immediately, but Kara intervenes, and frees Power Girl. The fight is on, as Ultraman also attacks, but Kara defeats him, and is about to kill him, when Saturn Queen mentally intervenes. She asked that her son be spared if she shares information about Argo City. The information is shared, and Kara leaves Ultraman alone, and departs with Power Girl.

Supergirl is smoking, and talking to Boomer, together on a date. He keeps asking her questions, like an analyst. He asks her when she started smoking; she says just now, but she finds it disgusting, and is immediately quitting. She flashes back to her recent confrontation with Power Girl, after returning from Kandor. Power Girl wants to know why they suddenly left, and she found herself back at JSA headquarters. Kara insists she just quit as it wasn't their fight. Power Girl suddenly understands that Saturn Queen gave her information about Argo City, but Supergirl just keeps insisting that they never should have gotten involved. Power Girl gives up, and leaves. At a nightclub with Boomer, she flashes back again, this time to Themyscira, where she spent some time with Wonder Girl. She then plays pool with Boomer, and finds out that his father was murdered. She then flashes back to time at the Kent farm talking with the Kents. She and Boomer move their date to the top of the Empire State Building, where he's looking into apartments with binoculars, and finds a wife-beater, who Supergirl takes out with an almond. She flashes back to Krypton, where her father is struggling with her mother, and tells Kara to kill her. She needs money for their date, so she goes to the Batcave, and sells a Kryptonian "Sourcedoc" medical device to Batman for one million USD, so that she will never have to worry about money again. He tells her that Superman is worried about her. After dinner with Boomer in Japan, they are about to end their date, when a truck is about to run over a girl chasing a cat. She stops the truck, and the girl asks if she is Supergirl, and if that's her new costume. Supergirl asks her if she likes it, and she says "No, Supergirl shouldn't wear black. Too dark." Supergirl returns home, and Wonder Girl appears after a blowout with her mom, and they comfort each other.
