Captain Marvel arrives in Opal City to take James Barr into custody. Starman stalls Captain Marvel, allowing his father and Barr time to get to Fawcett City. Starman is successful, but Captain Marvel eventually gets the upper hand. The O'Dares and the Opal City PD intervene, shaking Captain Marvel's confidence in his actions. He leaves to search for Barr elsewhere. Starman then leaves to join his father in Fawcett City.

Doctor Phosphorus escapes from Cray Prison. Jack and Ted discuss how Jack is going to deal with the escaped villain while watching the TV news. Elsewhere, Shade helps Matt O'Dare go straight by eliminating, either by murder or conversation, those who knew Matt's past. The last person they confront is Hope, she isn't happy with Matt, but gives him a chance to prove himself.
