If I were asked to sum up DC's publishing philosophy in two words (and incidentally, no one has actually asked me to do so), I would have to respond: diversity and commitment.
Dick Giordano discusses DC's "diversity and commitment", new printing techniques, and DC's "new talent search".

Marv Wolfman (as editor) ends the letter column as follows:

“That’s it for this month. We’ll be back next issue with the final chapter of J.J.’s death. The Vigilante stages a one-man showdown with The Controller in a story we promise you will not forget. Take care and be good.”

This letter column appears to have been delayed by one issue, as Wolfman’s description of the “next issue” is that of this very issue.

Published letters (which receive no direct editorial reply – there is just a general intro and outro by Marv Wolfman) are from: John Henry Sain, Michael Eury (future DC staffer?), Susan M. Murrie, “T.M. Maple”, and Wayne Nelson.
