Donald lets the nephews pick their own present, and it's a ferris wheel. To get the money for it, the ducks go to Canada to pick up the 100-foot Christmas tree Scrooge has bought for the town square, in response to a challenge from Ollie Eiderduck. To save himself from losing his bet with Scrooge, Eiderduck sends the Beagle Boys north to shorten the tree.
