Sandman [Wesley Dodds]; Dian Belmont; The Tarantula; Catherine Van der Meer; D.A. Lawrence Belmont; Judge Thomas Schaffer; Lt. Ross O'Donald; Lt. Tony Burke; Albert Goldman; Miriam Goldman; Celia Goldman; Roger Goldman; Commissioner Irving Davis; Carlo; Charlie Malloy
The Sandman pushes Dian aside and continues down the fire escape, having just eavesdropped on police plans to catch the murderer. Dian insists on viewing the body of the latest victim and claims it is not Catherine, who, at the moment is being tortured by "The Tarantula". A veiled female figure insists that Catherine knows something and orders the hooded man to continue. A tense dinner scene is enacted at the Goldmans'. The Sandman gets a clue from a taxi driver before the police do. As Catherine awakes she is shown a manacled woman next to her who is about to be tortured as an example.
