Sandman [Wesley Dodds]; Dian Belmont; Lt. Tony Burke; The Tarantula; Catherine van der Meer; D.A. Lawrence Belmont; Judge Thomas Schaffer; Lt. Ross O'Donald; Albert Goldman; Miriam Goldman; Celia Goldman; Roger Goldman; Leslie Humphries; Fenton Devere; Martha (Belmont’s maid)
The Sandman takes files from the safe at Everhard Milk before he can be stopped by Lt. Burke. Finding the name of financial adviser Fenton Devere in the files, Burke visits him and finds him gassed. Dever reveals to Burke that Goldman used the company as a front for a bootleg run. Dian, obsessed, reads her father's files and tells Dodds her dad's been investigating Goldman and that Catherine knows him. Goldman has sex with daughter Celia after telling her he's turned over a trust to her. Son Roger sees them and tells his mother. Another note is found revealing Celia Goldman has been kidnapped.
