The left hand page features a smaller illustration with notes about the art on the facing page written by Dave McKean and/or Neil Gaiman. This layout pattern is only interrupted once: the spread on pages 88 and 89 (A Game of You collection) features full page art on the left and the smaller illustration with text on the right. Unless otherwise noted, the smaller illustrations are personal photographs by Dave McKean.
