Betty returns to Hulkbuster Base with the Hulk secretly in tow and Betty has a tearful reconciliation with her father. Their moment of serenity is short-lived, however, as the Rhino and the Abomination show up to take out the jade giant. Jim and Talia, who have driven two thousand miles just to say "Hi" to their friends, find the base locked down and under siege. As the Hulk takes care of the villains, Jim defuses a Gamma bomb set off to destroy the base. With the situation well in hand, Armbruster takes advantage of an unguarded moment to trap the Hulk.

The Hulk has been captured and put in a holding cell at Hulkbuster base. As he is quickly dismantling the walls of his prison, Armbruster calls on Peter Corbeau who brings a ray to teleport the Hulk to another dimension. The Hulk is blasted away but the Hulkbusters find themselves facing the Juggernaut in his place. When they try to use the ray again, the Hulk returns as well and the two powerhouses quickly bust out and get away. The Hulk quickly finds he does not like his new ally and the two battle. The X-Men show up to capture the Juggernaut but allow the Hulk to escape.

Feeling a kinship with his irradiated foe, the Cobalt Man saves Bruce from drowning in the hull of a sinking ship. As Bruce begins to recover from his ordeal, the Cobalt Man decides to destroy the city of Sydney in an effort to show mankind the danger of nuclear power. Betty tries to coax Bruce into turning into the Hulk to face the villain but he has been doped up in the hospital and she has to push him off of the roof to get him frantic enough to exact the change. Cobalt Man tries to defeat the Hulk by flying him to the upper atmosphere but his ploy takes too long and he explodes.

Appalachia was a nice place to visit, but he wouldn't want to live there--or so thought the Hulk in words pretty much to that effect--
The Hulk is in Canada looking for some peace and quiet when he is mysteriously drawn to a cave inhabited by the sister of the man who became the Wendigo. Marie and Georges plan on transferring the power of the Wendigo to the Hulk, thus restoring Paul Cartier to his normal life. Marie's magic isn't strong enough, however, and just as Wendigo shows up, the Hulk wakes up from his magical slumber and the two battle. The Canadian government gets involved and sends in their own agent to take care of a recent Hulk sighting, the mutant known as Wolverine.

Instant recap dept.: ol' greenskin has been lured to Quebec, Canada as part of a fantastic plan to cure the wild-eyed woods-beast called the Wendigo--
Canadian super-agent Wolverine teams up with the Hulk to battle Wendigo. Once the monster is felled, however, Wolvie turns on the Hulk and the two battle. Marie goes ahead with her plans of trying to transfer the power of the Wendigo into the Hulk but when the guilt becomes too much for best friend Georges who feels responsible for Paul's monstrous condition, he works the change on himself. Paul Cartier is returned to human form and Georges becomes the Wendigo.

Quebec, Canada--deep in the great north woods:
After Wolverine's six hours gave elapsed, the Hulk is captured by Canadian commandos; however, Hulk escapes and meets Crackajack Jackson. Jackson befriends the Hulk, and the Hulk decides to travel with Jackson who is on his way to visit his son in prison. Elsewhere, Hammer and Anvil, having escaped from prison, encounter an alien who turns their chain into a weapon. With their chain altered, Hammer and Anvil return to prison to exact revenge. With the aid of the Hulk, Crackajack finally arrives at the prison to meet his son, Hammer... with dire consequences.

The Hulk is abducted to Toadworld where he is sent to capture the Shaper of Worlds. When Glorian is shot, the Shaper's concentration shatters and Crackerjack and Jarella disappear, the Hulk goes on a rampage.
