Gee! I never would have dweamed that I needed a business manager, but you made me see the light, Bugs!
Bugs talks Elmer into buying the "Bates Hotel" in Muddville - sight unseen. They find it to be in disrepair, and unable to attract guests. To remedy the situation - and get himself off the hook for the bad advice he gave Elmer - Bugs starts a rumor of a hidden fortune somewhere in the hotel. Opportunistic treasure hunters flock to the place in droves - and begin tearing it apart.

This story, referring to the "Bates Hotel" (not "Bates Motel"), was published in 1958, two years before the release of Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" (1960). Perhaps the author read the novel upon which the film was based.

Dell Comics' own version of "The Comics Code", in response to the politically motivated attacks upon comic books in the 1950s. (Text follows)

"The Dell trademark is, and always has been, a positive guarantee that the comic magazine bearing it contains only clean and wholesome entertainment. The Dell Code eliminates entirely, rather than regulates, objectionable material. That's why when your child buys a Dell Comic you can be sure it contains only good fun. 'DELL COMICS ARE GOOD COMICS' is our only credo and constant goal."
