At Berlin, Kunju Meets Gertrude Kline.
Meeting Gertrude Klein in Berlin, she's a professor of history at the University of Munich, Kunju is invited to talk about his travels at the Youth Club meetings of the university towns in West Germany. He then proceeded through Ludwig-Maximillian University, Frankfurt, and Mainz seeing the Monument of Gutenberg, the 15th century inventory of printing. He then proceeds to Cologne and visits the Cathedral. Moving on he stays at the youth hostel Stahleck Castle on the Rhine. This issues details end in Hamburg after he passes through Hanover.

Jungle Patrol H.Q.
The spy "Dr. Heg" pretends to be doing a historical study of the Jungle Patrol to find out the name of the Patrol's Commander, no one now knows, nor has it ever been recorded, in the 300 year history. Hiring the entertainer Jade to get the information from Smyth the story of the secret messages dropped off (by the Phantom) in the safe, in a locked room, is revealed. From this information Heg finds the tunnel that leads to the safe after seeing the Phantom leave it. Using it he generates his own "fake" orders to remove and disband the Patrol. The Phantom finds out in time to prevent invasion.
