Synopsis:
In 1881 Ronald Ross becomes a doctor and is fighting to save patients with Malaria in a British hospital in India. On leave in London he meets Dr. Patrick Manson who is also working on Malaria, and shows him the parasite that causes it. Being transferred around for his duties delayed Ross's research but he was finally able to prove Malaria was transferred by mosquitos. From there he went on to begin the fight against mosquitos having cesspools sprayed with oil to prevent breeding, thus dramatically reducing the occurrences of Malaria in the population.
