Synopsis:
A gang in bulletproof great ape costumes kidnap the Llongo King despite the efforts of his warriors. Forces him to learn their 'language' the gang plans to use the villagers to destroy the jungle patrol and get rich. Investigate a theft of gold Patrolman Smythe is captured and sentenced to death by the 'apes'. The Phantom rescues him just in time, but investigating afterwards is captured, and left to die in a burning building because he discovered the gang's secret. Escaping and returning with surprise on his side the Phantom defeats the 'apes' and turns them over to Patrolman Smythe.
