Kaänga and Ann visit the village of Tonga, where their friend Bonako is to celebrate his chieftanship by use of a ritual bow. The witch doctor, D'Hama, spoils the ceremony by poisoning the bowstring and causing an arrow to be shot from hiding, killing Bonako. Kaänga exposes the trick and D'Hama is killed by the tribe.
