Art submitted on December 3, 1947. Synopsis by Michael Barrier from "Carl Barks and the Art of the Comic Book" (1982).
This early version of Scrooge may not yet be "The World's Richest Duck", as he says to Donald: "The McDuck fortune is in bad shape! I must raise several million dollars immediately!"
This story profoundly influences portions of "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" by Don Rosa, particularly so in its first chapter - appearing in the United States in Uncle Scrooge (Gladstone, 1993 Series) #285 (April 1994). https://www.comics.org/issue/54814/
