First Line
Dr. Cassandra Locke; The First Line [Effigy [Velmax] (as Skrull lieutenant in 1947, later as Jacob Scott, later as a monster); Nightingale; Liberty Girl (death); Black Fox; Kid Justice (later known as Mr. Justice); Yankee Clipper]; Sam Matonabbe (later known as Oxbow); Pixie; Lee Harvey Oswald; Marina Oswald; Zuhn (villain, death, a Skrull commander in 1947, later as Mr. Winget and Chimera); Howler (villain); Jacob Scott (death in 1947)
In 1947, Skrull Commander Zuhn and Lt. Velmax crashland on Earth. Zuhn appears to die, Velmax takes the human form of Jacob Scott. On November 21, 1963, Nightingale has a premonition of something terrible happening within the next 24 hours in Dallas, Texas. The First Line investigates, and discovers Howler and Chimera breaking into a Stark facility. Liberty Girl and Chimera both perish, but not before Effigy learns that Chimera is his old Skrull commander. Cassandra Locke then appears, but as she approaches Yankee Clipper, their time-belts interact and they are both thrown into the timestream.

The story sequence featuring the First Line's battle against Chimera and Howler takes place on November 21, 1963. Cassandra Locke appears at the end of this conflict. These events take place on the day before President John F. Kennedy was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald.

The flashback sequence revealing Velmax's crashlanding on Earth occurs in 1947. Velmax (later Effigy) adopts the Jacob Scott identity in this flashback.

Cassandra Locke's previous chronological appearance was in issue #8, her next chronological appearance is in issue #7. Her log entry in this issue is 126-1-17.

Yankee Clipper's previous chronological appearance was in issue #3, his next chronological appearance is in the flashback to the mid-1980s in issue #1.

First appearance of the Yankee Clipper, Kid Justice (previously introduced as an adult named Mr. Justice in issue #12), Liberty Girl, and Zuhn (Chimera).

Liberty Girl is killed in this story.

Pixie recruits Sam Matonabbe to be her partner, Oxbow, in this story.

Although Howler appeared with blonde fur in issue #6, he appears with white fur in this issue. It is not yet known if that was a plot point or merely a coloring mistake.
