The X-Men show up in Japan for Wolverine's wedding and Wolvie isn't happy to see newest member, Rogue. Wolverine and Nightcrawler help Yukio battle the Silver Samurai who is lurking about. Wolvie explains to Storm that Mariko's father was deeply involved in organized crime and he plans on cleaning up Clan Yashida. Viper sneaks in and poisons the X-Men. Mariko has a meeting with Silver Samurai who turns out to be her half-brother. Storm and Yukio rescue her from the Samurai and Viper. Hearing of the attack, Wolvie decides to go after the Samurai and Rogue asks to tag along.

Wolverine and Rogue go after the Silver Samurai and Viper. Wolvie comes close to killing the Samurai but Mariko steps in and saves her half-brother. Viper tries to blast them but Rogue gets in the way and saves their lives. With Rogue quickly dying, Wolvie touches her skin so she can absorb his healing factor. Storm adopts her punk look which freaks Kitty out. During the wedding ceremony, Mariko calls it off as she has deemed Logan unworthy.
