The Miracle Man performs his evildoing debut at his magic show by humiliating the Thing. The Miracle Man declares war on humanity and animates a movie monster statue. The Human Torch torches the animated Monster from Mars-statue and the Invisible Girl stows away on the atomic tank that the Miracle Man has stolen. The Thing recalls the origin of the Fantastic Four while the Invisible Girl is taken prisoner by the Miracle Man. The Miracle Man is defeated, but at the cost of the Human Torch leaving the Fantastic Four.

The Fantastic Four are searching for the runaway Human Torch. Fleeing the Thing, the runaway Human Torch finds the amnesiac Sub-Mariner. The Human Torch drops the Sub-Mariner into the sea and he regains his memory. The Sub-Mariner sends Giganto to smash New York. The Thing walks into Giganto with a bomb and blows him up. The Human Torch sweeps the Sub-Mariner and Giganto away into the sea. The Sub-Mariner says "I'll be back!"
