Kaänga escorts artist Herbert Matthews to the Congo Castle, a medieval castle in the jungle. On arrival, they discover that the castle has been taken over by a white gang and the Kulangis. Kaänga liberates the castle people with the help of an angry rhinoceros.

'The innocent seed of curiosity, once planted in in the mind, grows with dangerous speed.'
A trio of dogs trained to hunt lions are loosed in the jungle. Simba is only able to defeat them by feigning a slip into a crocodile pool. The dogs follow and while they are being devoured by the crocodiles, Simba escapes.

Terry recalls his first posting to Fort Diablo and the villain, the Scorpion. The Scorpion returns as Terry is dedicating a memorial to the commissioner who died at the Scorpion's hand. The Scorpion is killed when the memorial pillar falls on him.
