The resulting crash in self-confidence leads Utena to begin dressing in girls' uniforms at school and withdrawing from social activities. Only the intervention of Wakaba gives her enough confidence to try to defeat Touga. But it also draws the attention of Akio Ohtori, the Headmaster of the academy and Anthy's brother.
