Synopsis:
Three or four years later, the Youngs moved from Texas to Idaho, taking Ginger and two of her pups, Scamp and Rowdy. They go exploring while Ginger sleeps. Miles away, they meet a calf, its mother, chase a rabbit, escape a wolf into a hollow log with the rabbit, where they meet a skunk who sprays them. The wolf retreats. They ransack the cabin of a trapper who shoots deer out of season, escape him, into the night, off a short cliff, watched by an owl, and a stalking cougar whom Ginger's teeth nip before it can pounce. Ginger saves her pup, nudges them down the short cliff and leads them home.
