Synopsis:
As the story opens, Diet Smith tells Tracy that he has killed a man. B. O. Plenty sees a burglar emerge from the basement of Diet Smith's house. He tells Tracy, who finds a strange watch dropped by the burglar. TRcy examines it closely in his lab and discovers that it is a two-way radio. With Smith's help, Tracy uses it as a communications tool for the police. Irma, thinking Smith cheated her son out of his invention, attempts to kill Smith as he takes a bath. Thinking she has succeeded, Irma shoots herself. Brilliant swears vengeance but changes his mind at the hospital.
