Synopsis: Der tote Christus liegt dem Vatikan zu Untersuchungen vor. Dabei ergeben sich eigenartige Veränderungen des mumifizierten Körpers. Kurz nachdem Kardinal Montespa davon erfahren hat, wird er das Opfer eines Angreifers, der ihm die rechte Hand abschlägt und seine Stirn mit "5 +" markiert. Das verweist auf eine Gruppe von fünf Rittern, die 1104 in Jerusalem das Grab mit dem Zwilling Thomas gefunden haben.
