This cover is not the standard cover from Four Color (Dell, 1942 series) #308 (January 1951). It is very similar to the later cover for The Carl Barks Library #2 (Another Rainbow, 1983 Series) #nn (November 1986). This could be an Australian drawn cover, but it is more likely the two images are based on an unknown common source, probably European.

Story submitted June 29, 1950. Comment: "Most of the characters in this story are humans, rather than humanoid dogs; Barks had used human characters in earlier stories, but never so prominently as in this one, and Western's editors did not approve." Comment and story synopsis by Michael Barrier from "Carl Barks and the Art of the Comic Book" (1982). The original story is 28 pages.
