Unca Donald, what is that big building… on… Killmotor Hill?
Uncle Scrooge introduces Donald and the boys to his new Money Bin atop Killmotor Hill, outfitted with booby traps and burglar deterrents of all sorts. The bin is reinforced with ten-inch thick concrete… except underneath, where the Beagle Boys have begun to tunnel in. To thwart this effort, Scrooge fills the bin with water – on what turns out to be “the coldest night in the history of Duckburg!”

It’s a much-requested 1938 Disney classic! Years before Carl Barks’ first Donald Duck tales, this rare earlier Duck adventure was serialized in Italy, one page per week.
Donald Duck and Peter Pig are wartime correspondents in the thick of the conflict between Sylvania and Sargassia. Their assignment is to get the first ever photograph of Sylvania’s reclusive General Sweet. Bart Caterwaul, an unscrupulous journalist for a competing newspaper, has the same mission and frames Donald and Peter as spies to be sent before a firing squad.

Story appears in 14 individual one-page installments, presumably as it was originally presented in Italy, 1938. The format seems to mirror that of a Sunday newspaper strip reprint, but with strip-to-strip continuity. Part One of Two. Concludes in Donald Duck (Boom! Studios, 2011 Series) #365 April 2011.
