Goofy buys some desert property, sight-unseen, and moves his house there. He and Mickey soon realize it was one of Black Pete's land fraud schemes. While digging a well, they find a tortoise with a map carved on its shell that leads them to an abandoned cabin. Inside is a bag of gold coins left there years ago by a bandit gang. The map also shows them the way out of the desert and they fetch the police to arrest Pete and Slink.
