Synopsis: The government sends a Sentinel against Vulcan but he quickly destroys it. Cyclops uses this diversion to send Rachel back to the mansion to contact the rest of the X-Men for help. Vulcan takes Cyclops to Muir Island and they wait for Professor X to show up. Xavier arrives, followed quickly by the X-Men. Cyclops is horrified when Xavier admits that Vulcan has been telling the truth--he is part of a previous team of X-Men who died on Krakoa and is also Scott's brother. Vulcan demands that Xavier show them all telepathically, but Charlie admits that he can't do so as he is no longer a mutant.

First Line: Ladies and gentlemen... if I may have your attention...

Synopsis: Jessica returns to the Helicarrier accompanied by all of her fellow heroes whom Emma Frost is shielding from SHIELD. Cyclops splits the good guys into three teams as he makes plans to take on Magneto. As dignitaries from around the world gather to honor the House of M, the heroes use a modified Sentinel to attack the royal party. As their allies create a diversion, Cloak, Emma and Layla visit the Xavier memorial and discover that Professor X is nowhere to be found.

Synopsis: The New Mutants face the Hulk in the Danger Room which freaks David out because the same thing happened in his illusion about becoming president. He starts snubbing Noriko because, in that possible future, he was married to her. Kevin tells Cyclops and Emma about the relationship between Josh and Rahne. Rahne is reprimanded and leaves the school. Laurie is heartbroken and breaks up with Josh, using her pheromone powers on him when he won't leave her alone about it. David lets Josh know he is on the outs with the rest of the squad.

Notes: This story is the first full appearance of Pixie. She is depicted as a member of the Paragon team and her first name (Megan) is given as Rahne speaks to her. She is shown as having short hair with red circles on her cheeks with colorful butterfly like wings. In her next appearance in New X-Men (Marvel, 2004 series) #14, the circles on her face have become individual freckles and her wings are thinner and more translucent. In her only previous appearance, she is shown in one panel of New X-Men (Marvel, 2004 series) #5 sitting at a table in the cafeteria with a number of other unidentified students. Oddly, the first few issues of this series had a number of background characters, both male and female, with pixie wings which are clearly not the character that would become Pixie.
