Charlie the chimp; Bula; Tunga; Chanta;
Some friendships are easily made... and just as easily broken, but when an animal places his total trust in a human being, it is something to be cherished... and from that lasting friendship can grow.
Korak loses his friend and pet chimp, Charlie, in an archery contest to Bula. Korak then has to face many challenges to get Charlie back, injuring him in the process. It seems that Charlie might die, but just as Korak has given up all hope, Charlie is able to stand up and comfort Korak, giving the story a happy ending and teaching everyone that friendship is important and that "friends should always be able to forgive each other."

Dave Underwood; Sam Underwood; Buff Minter; Inspector Collier; Charlie the chimp;
Dave Underwood's business was in hiring out his motor boat to anyone prepared to pay the price he asked.
Dave Underwood is killed by Buff Minter, an Ivory smuggler, after Dave refuses to help Minter move the poached items. Sam, Dave's son, sees it all. Korak then has to comfort Sam and help him find the courage to talk again. They end up being chased by Minter though a cave where he'd hidden the ivory. Minter causes a cave-in by shooting his rifle and dying in it. Korak and Sam then head back to the Investigator and explain what had just happened. Sam is happy in the end, because he helped clear his dad's name from being known as a smuggler.
