British artist Jim Holdaway (1927-1970) is best-known for his work on the Modesty Blaise comic strip, which he illustrated from 1963 until his untimely death in 1970, when he died of a heart attack at age 42 (Wikipedia).

The Olympic Games committee have received a letter...
Esteemed athlete Captain Vigour, now a member of the Central Committee of Olympics, learns of Lahai, a young boy living in West Africa with exceptional performance as a runner. Vigour sets out to visit the boy and recruit him for the Olympics but soon learns that the boy cannot move, and has fallen under the spell of Levuma, a witch doctor who is trying to prevent the boy from leaving. Vigour and his team encounter a number of obstacles as they try to rescue the boy from Levuma.
