- Dr. Nemesis [now called Dr. Death] beginning in Lightning Comics (Ace Magazines, 1940 series) v1#6 (April 1941);
- Strongman beginning in Crash Comics Adventures (Temerson/Helnit/Continental, 1940 series) #1 (May 1940);
- Duke O'Dowd the Human Meteor beginning in Champion Comics (Worth Carnahan, 1939 series) #6 (April 1940) [1st appearance as Duke O'Dowd in #6, receives the wonder-belt in #8, called Human Meteor in #9].
