Arak, Son of Thunder
Arak; Satyricus; Sharizad; Alsind
Arak and Satyricus agree to let the girls accompany them for a while, but when the younger girl trips and falls, "her" identity as a boy is revealed. His name is Alsind, and he claims to be the rightful heir to the Caliph, ruler of Islam. Later, the group is lured into being attacked by a ghul, a creature that lives inside a rock. It manages to abduct Satyricus before being driven away, but Arak uses his new-found shaman powers to locate the rock where the ghul resides. As the ghul is destroyed, she recognizes Arak's heritage and rages against the Serpent for not warning her.

Arak, Son of Thunder
Arak [Bright-Sky-After-Storm]
A young Arak is dared by a friend to claim the paw of Yaogah, the great northwind bear, to prove that he really is He-No's son. A bold, but foolish, Arak angrily accepts the challenge and makes his way to the bear's cave. He is immediately put in mortal danger from the terrible creature. But, Yaogah recognizes Arak's divine lineage and declares that Arak must learn that constantly trying to prove one's courage is the act of one consumed by self-doubt. When Arak returns to his village, he refrains from boasting of his experience, and admits he failed in his quest.
