Oddly, the rich man (who plays a major role as Huck's employer) remains nameless throughout the story while his chauffeur - who appears in only one panel, and in silhouette - is give the name "James".

The title, "Jungle James", refers to Huck's job as a jungle chauffeur for the rich man's African camera-safari. "James" becoming shorthand for chauffeur. Per Merlin Haas, it is also a parody reference to the character "Jungle Jim".

Huck begins this story as a cab driver. The same year (1960) saw "Huck's Hack", a cartoon casting Huck as a cab driver.

The floating heads illustration comprises the top third of the back cover, in color. The remaining 2/3 of the back cover space is left blank to contain the name and logo of the business using the comic as a promotional item.

The image of each individual character's floating head is repurposed art from the cover of Four Color #990 (Dell, 1942 Series) Huckleberry Hound (May-July 1959). https://www.comics.org/issue/173636/cover/4/ The art is slightly extended below the chin-lines of Pixie and Dixie, giving both of them the Hanna-Barbera standard-issue bowties when only Pixie wears such a tie.
