Nyanga Imopo and two other magicians visit New Aba-Zulu to entertain Dan-El and Natongo. While there, they predict that those of royal blood are in danger, and they give Queen Tavane a poisonous flower. Simamba, the queen's maid and herb-doctoress stops her before she can be poisoned. Later, Imopo comes back and kidnaps Simamba, planning to make her his wife. Dan-El and Natongo follow them. After escaping a deadly maze in the jungle, they rescue Simamba, who turns out to be of royal blood herself.
