The Leopard Strikes is adapted from January 5, 1941, Shadow radio play by Jerry Devine. Walter Gibson probably did the comics adaptation since he was receiving copies of the radio scripts, though it's also possible that artist Vernon Greene may have worked directly from the radio script while he was doing the artwork.

Per Anthony Tollin, "Walter did have bitter feelings about being excluded from the radio scriptwriting, which causes me to wonder if he would have wanted to rewrite radio scripts." (Anthony Tollin, 17 August 2004).
